MSC Cruises members received major updates at the end of 2024! A brand new "Blue Diamond" tier has been added, and membership validity has been extended to 5 years. This article introduces the MSC Voyagers Club membership tiers, how to accumulate points, benefits, status matching, and FAQs.
MSC Cruises Voyagers Club Membership Tiers
The MSC loyalty program, Voyagers Club, has six membership tiers: Welcome, Classic, Silver, Gold, Diamond, and the newly added Blue Diamond. Only tiers from Classic onwards are eligible for official member benefits and discounts.

Classic: 1-2,199 points
Silver: 2,200-4,299 points
Gold: 4,300-9,999 points
Diamond: 10,000-24,999 points
Blue Diamond: 25,000+ points
MSC Voyagers Club Point Accumulation
Before booking an MSC cruise, you must first register as a Welcome member to start accumulating points on your first sailing.
If you forget to register as a Welcome member, you can ask the staff onboard to register you; however, you will not be able to accumulate points for the current sailing and will only start earning points from your next cruise!

Booking Points
The easiest way to earn Voyagers Club points is by sailing with MSC Cruises! Points are awarded based on the purchased Experience Type and the Cruise Duration.

Prepaid Services Points
Certain onboard services such as drink packages, internet packages, shore excursions, SPA, and fitness classes can be purchased prior to sailing. You earn 100 points for every €/$ 150 spent.
There are 2 calculation methods for prepaid onboard services:
🔹Per Cabin: For services that apply to everyone staying in the cabin.
If 4 people stay in the same cabin and book an item that is paid for collectively for the cabin (e.g., Drink Package), costing a total of USD 600:
👉 USD 600 ÷ 4 people = USD 150 per person
👉 Points are calculated based on USD 150 per person, meaning each person earns 100 points.
※If there are non-Voyagers Club members in the cabin, their share of the cost will not be converted into member points.
🔹Per Single Cabin Occupant: For services purchased for an individual.
If you individually book a paid item worth USD 600 (e.g., SPA, fitness class):
👉 You individually earn 400 points.
Bonus Points
In addition to the two methods above, there are other ways to earn extra bonus points:
1. Join the Voyagers Club before your cruise departs to receive 100 bonus points.
2. Existing members who update or confirm their contact details (e.g., email, phone, address) via the online member area or web check-in system before the cruise can receive an additional 100 bonus points.
MSC Voyagers Club Benefits
The Welcome tier of the MSC Voyagers Club offers only the most basic benefits. You must complete your first MSC cruise and upgrade to the Classic tier to enjoy full benefits.
The updated MSC Cruises membership validity is 5 years (60 months). Every time you book a new cruise and complete the sailing, your membership status is automatically extended for another 5 years, giving travelers more ample and flexible time to upgrade their membership tier.

MSC Voyagers Club Status Match
If you want to upgrade your MSC membership quickly, you can use the "Status Match" program with other cruise lines, hotel groups, or travel brands to directly convert to a corresponding tier without slowly accumulating points!
Each MSC member account can only use Status Match once, so the higher your membership tier with the original brand, the greater your chance of matching to Gold or Diamond status.
However, the newly added Blue Diamond tier cannot be obtained through the Status Match system; you can only upgrade to Blue Diamond by sailing with MSC Cruises.

🔹Is there a fee to join the MSC Voyagers Club?
Joining the MSC Voyagers Club is completely free.
🔹How do I apply for the MSC Voyagers Club?
Online Application: You can register for Voyagers Club membership via the official MSC Cruises website. If you have already booked a ticket but have not yet joined, you can complete registration up to 72 hours before departure. Upon successful registration, you will receive an email confirmation containing your MSC Voyagers Club membership number.
Onboard Application: You can register for membership at the Reception-Guest Service or the MSC Voyagers Club Infopoint onboard. You will receive a registration confirmation first, but your membership status will only become effective starting from your next cruise, at which point you can begin accumulating points.
🔹I am under 18, can I register as an MSC Voyagers Club member?
Yes, anyone of any age can join the MSC Voyagers Club; there are no restrictions. However, guests under 18 can only be registered by a parent or legal guardian, and the following information must be provided: Name and Date of Birth.
🔹I am under 18, can I receive the same benefits and privileges as adults?
You are eligible to enjoy most benefits and privileges, but some are restricted for members under 18 or can only be used under specific conditions. Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully.
🔹Can I register for membership on the cruise and immediately start enjoying my privileges on the same sailing?
If you register onboard, you will receive confirmation via email approximately 10 days after disembarkation. You can enjoy the corresponding privileges based on your membership tier starting from your next cruise.
🔹Can I register for membership on the cruise and immediately receive my membership number and card on the same sailing?
If you register onboard, you will receive confirmation via email approximately 10 days after disembarkation. The confirmation email will contain your membership number and a digital membership card.
🔹When will I receive my MSC Voyagers Club membership card?
You will receive your Cruise Card on the embarkation day of each voyage. This Cruise Card also serves as your MSC Voyagers Club membership card; it will display your membership number and will be color-coded according to your current membership tier (except for Welcome cards). After registration, please remember to use the same membership number when booking your next cruise to accumulate points and enjoy privileges.
🔹What is a Cruise Card?
The Cruise Card is issued to you on embarkation day. This card serves as your cabin key and is used for onboard payments. Every guest will receive a Cruise Card.
🔹What is the Welcome tier?
The Welcome card is the tier preceding Classic, indicating you have just joined. You must join as a Welcome member to start accumulating points; you will receive points for your first sailing after the voyage ends.
🔹The Cruise Card I received does not have my membership number on it, what should I do?
To ensure you enjoy MSC Voyagers Club benefits, please remember to provide your membership number when booking your cruise. If your membership status is not recognized, please go to the Guest Service center for assistance, where staff will help verify your MSC Voyagers Club membership eligibility.
🔹Do I need to actively request membership benefits from onboard staff?
Once your membership status is confirmed, you generally do not need to ask staff for benefits; most are provided automatically. However, it is recommended to carry your Cruise Card with you while onboard, as most benefits require showing the card to be accessed. Remember to provide your membership number when booking the cruise to ensure you receive your benefits.

Points earned after a cruise are valid for 5 years (60 months) from the disembarkation date. You need to complete at least one cruise within 5 years (60 months) from your last disembarkation date to extend your membership for another 5 years.

Please check the website frequently for any changes to the loyalty program to stay up to date.
🔹How does MSC Voyagers Club know my tier when I cruise?
Whenever you book an MSC cruise, please remember to attach your MSC Voyagers Club membership number so MSC can recognize you onboard. You can only enjoy membership benefits if you provide your MSC Voyagers Club membership number at the time of booking.
🔹What is the membership validity period? When does it expire?
By completing at least one cruise within 5 years, you can maintain your MSC Voyagers Club points and tier. If you do not sail with MSC Cruises for more than 5 years (60 months) after your last disembarkation date, or more than 5 years (60 months) after registration, your MSC Voyagers Club membership will expire.
For example: If your last disembarkation date was January 30, 2025, and you do not sail until January 30, 2030, your membership will expire.
If membership expires, passengers must re-register for the MSC Voyagers Club. Re-registration is subject to the latest terms and conditions published at that time. The system will assign you a new membership number, or you must have a valid cruise booking to complete registration.
🔹If I buy a ticket for another passenger, who gets the points?
Only the passenger who actually sails on the cruise is eligible to earn points.
🔹Can I transfer my points to another MSC Voyagers Club account?
No, points are non-transferable and cannot be given to a third party. Points have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash; they are used solely to obtain MSC Voyagers Club membership benefits.
🔹Why haven't I received my points yet?
If you did not provide your MSC Voyagers Club membership number at the time of booking or onboard, points will not accumulate automatically.
Additionally, the name on the cruise ticket must match the name on your MSC Voyagers Club account exactly; if the spelling differs, points will not be credited. Your sailing may also not be eligible for point accumulation. If you have questions about eligibility, please inquire before completing your booking.
