Founded in 2002, Oceania Cruises is a brand under Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. The founders brought their past cruise industry experience to Oceania, injecting an innovative style that focuses on small to medium-sized ships, superior service, and exquisite cuisine.

The fleet currently consists of 8 ships. The newest vessel, "Oceania Allura," entered service in 2025, with two more newly built ships expected to join the fleet in 2027 and 2029 to expand operations.

Oceania Cruises' itineraries start from a minimum of 7 days, with most voyages lasting 10-14 days, calling at over 100 destinations. Classic routes include the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Panama Canal, Alaska, Australia, and New Zealand. Some itineraries also stop in Middle Eastern countries such as the UAE, Oman, Jordan, and Qatar, as well as operating routes in Asia and South America.

Oceania Cruises positions itself in the "affordable luxury" market. The cruise fare covers most onboard expenses, including all specialty restaurants, room service, Starlink WiFi, laundry service, non-alcoholic beverages (soda, specialty coffee, tea, mineral water, sparkling water, juices, smoothies), ice cream, group fitness classes, and gratuities, allowing travelers to fully enjoy their vacation.

The passenger-to-crew ratio is approximately 1.5 to 1.7, meaning the staff can provide high-quality service, ensuring every guest feels right at home.

Staterooms

Oceania Cruises offers a variety of stateroom categories, from warm and elegant Interior Staterooms to luxurious top-tier Suites, all designed with comfortable and spacious layouts. All staterooms feature premium bedding, luxury bath amenities, and 24-hour room service.

Guests staying in a Concierge Level Veranda Stateroom enjoy upgraded services such as welcome sparkling wine, garment pressing, and priority reservations for specialty restaurants. Suites come with a dedicated butler, priority luggage delivery, packing services, and priority reservations for shows, providing travelers with even more thoughtful service.

The new ships, Vista and Allura, feature exclusively Veranda Staterooms and Suites, offering a more comfortable sailing experience.

Culinary Experience

The dining experience is a major hallmark of Oceania Cruises. With "The Finest Cuisine at Sea" as its core concept, the line invited French master chef Jacques Pépin to serve as Executive Culinary Director. Together with Culinary Directors Alexis Quaretti and Eric Barale, they provide cuisine comparable to Michelin-starred restaurants and design cooking classes and culinary-related shore excursions to bring a maritime feast to foodies.

All restaurants on board are included in the fare. Chefs use fresh ingredients to provide made-to-order dishes. Travelers can enjoy Continental cuisine all day at the main restaurant, The Grand Dining Room, and the buffet, Terrace Café, while specialty restaurants serve Italian, French, Asian cuisine, and American steaks.

Horizons serves afternoon tea daily at 4 PM. Staff wheel out four-tiered pastry carts filled with finger sandwiches, scones, and desserts. Paired with selected teas, it allows you to enjoy a leisurely afternoon.

In addition, the ship offers a variety of cooking classes at The Culinary Center, where you can create dishes under the guidance of a chef. Themes include regional cuisines such as French, Italian, Spanish, British, Greek, and Asian, as well as classes focusing on basic skills like knife work and mastering ingredient combinations.

Beyond onboard dining, Oceania Cruises also plans unique "Culinary Discovery Tours." In select ports across the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, South America, the UK, the Netherlands, Japan, and Korea, travelers can join shore excursions led by chefs to visit local markets, gain in-depth understanding of local food culture, and bring ingredients back to the ship or conduct hands-on cooking classes locally.

Entertainment on Oceania Cruises focuses on culture, arts, food, and wellness, with a tranquil atmosphere suitable for mature travelers.

Daytime activities include painting classes, cooking classes, lectures, and board games, while evenings can be spent listening to music at a bar or watching spectacular song and dance performances. The ship's library holds over 2,000 books; order a coffee, sit in an armchair, and immerse yourself in reading.

Visit the Sports Deck to experience shuffleboard and golf, or use the jogging track. Don't forget the complimentary group fitness classes available! These include Pilates, Yoga, and HIIT.

If you want to relax thoroughly, visit the Aquamar Spa to use the steam room, sauna, and spa facilities. Advanced massage, aromatherapy, and beauty treatments are available for an additional fee.

Solo Travelers

Oceania Cruises is one of the few cruise lines to offer staterooms for solo travelers. On the four smaller ships—Regatta, Insignia, Nautica, and Sirena—there are 18 Solo Oceanview Staterooms; the newer ships, Vista and Allura, offer 6 Concierge Level Solo Veranda Staterooms, providing a more luxurious and comfortable space for travelers.

Solo travelers are invited to exclusive gatherings to meet other friends traveling alone, and also have opportunities to make like-minded new companions at bars, by the pool, and during various activities.
